Roanoke and Blacksburg Rank on Forbes.com "The Best Places For Business And Careers" Lists

Each year Forbes.com ranks metropolitan areas with the most economic opportunity. The areas are ranked in several sectors including costs (business and living), job growth (past and projected), income growth, educational attainment and projected economic growth. Also factored are quality-of-life issues like crime, cultural and recreational opportunities as well as net migration patters. Percentage of subprime mortgages handed out over a three-year stretch and the number of highly ranked four-year colleges in the area. The Roanoke metro area competed in the over 300,000 population category and ranked 39th overall on that list. Read more.
